In response to COVID-19, and in adherence to county guidance, the City of Coronado prohibits parking at the following locations until further notice.

Military Family Life Counselors (MFLC) that were previously assigned to Coronado schools and Child Development Centers are now offering telehealth appointments for their military families as outlined below.

Support for Children and Youth:
• Individual video non-medical counseling sessions for minors 13 to 17 years of age

>> New SDUSD Food Distribution Sites Coming Soon: Beginning next Wednesday, April 15, the district will be serving free meals to children at Dewey Elementary, Foster Elementary, and Madison High School, in addition to the other 16 sites already in operation across the city.

>> A Memorandum of Understanding was recently established between the San Diego Zoo and Naval Base Point Loma (NBPL) to harvest acacia at NBPL. Acacia is a non-native invasive plant prevelant throughout NBPL. The harvested acacia is used to supplement the diet of the their animals.

>> Miramar: BLUF: HQMC is authorizing extensions for those who may require more time to complete transition and medical appointments before an EAS.

>> Pendleton roads: 1) Stuart Mesa Road CLOSED from Las Flores to Las Pulgas. *Open for emergency traffic only

2) LAS PULGAS GATE: IS NOW OPEN

3) Beach Club Road is CLOSED.

4) Vandegrift Blvd is OPEN to the public in both directions. *Right-hand Eastbound lane CLOSED in Box Canyon.

4. Del Mar Gate is CLOSED inbound and outbound until further. *No Emergency Traffic. CLOSURE DUE TO COVID-19

5. A Street 13 Area is closed; Closure extends from Auto Hobby shop to 13th and 14th Street. CLOSURE DUE TO COVID-19

6. De Luz Road at Sequoia Road East of O’Neill Heights Housing, closed to all traffic. *No Emergency Traffic.

>> NEX & Commissary update: Before visiting the NBSD NEX or Commissary, please ensure you are wearing a face covering when shopping at those facilities. These facilities are critical to supporting our military personnel and their families’ ability to shop for necessities and enforcement of the wear of face coverings will help us ensure they remain operational.

>> Wednesday, April 8th, 2020, NHCP will be hosting a blood drive at the Intrepid Spirit Center, Bldg. 2016 (off San Jacinto Road) from 10:00 am-2:00 pm.

Individuals are required to wear face coverings for entrance into and use of:
-Commissaries
-Marine Corps Exchanges
-Marine Marts
-Consolidated Issue Facility (CIF)
-Mess halls
-Barber shops

The Consolidated Issue Facility (CIF)-issued balaclava or neck gaiter are recommended for wear for Marines who possess those items.

Marines, Sailors and civilian employees will maintain a face covering on their person as PPE at all times.

>> San Diego Navy, too. Use of Face Covering on Naval Bases

Effective immediately, and to the extent possible, all individuals (military and civilian) on DoD property, installations, and facilities are required to wear cloth face coverings when they cannot maintain six feet of physical (social) distancing. Face coverings should be conservative in appearance and not offensive. 

At this time, there will be no restrictions to base access if you are not wearing a face covering. All personnel should be prepared to lower face coverings as directed by security forces to verify identification. 

All personnel accessing local Navy bases are asked to obtain or make a face covering, as soon as possible.

CHILDCARE SERVICES:
CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTERS (CDC): All Navy Region Southwest CDCs are now operating under Child and Youth Program (CYP) Level II. To continue receiving care at one of the consolidated CDCs in the San Diego region, mission-essential personnel must submit a letter signed by a supervisor in the servicemember’s chain of command. All letters must be turned into the CDC where childcare has been assigned NO LATER THAN MONDAY 30 MARCH.

COMMISSARY (DECA):
NORMAL Hours of Operations. Purchase limits in place on designated items and ID checks will be conducted at the entrance. No visitors will be allowed to accompany authorized patrons to assist with social distancing recommendations and all stores will suspend early-bird shopping to allow for cleaning and restocking.
